    EMERYVILLE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nov. 1, 2004--

LeapFrog SchoolHouse Classroom Solutions Recognized for Innovation
                        in Education Technology

LeapFrog SchoolHouse, the school division of LeapFrog Enterprises, Inc. (NYSE: LF), today announced that it received three Awards of Excellence from Technology & Learning Magazine, the leading publication in the K-12 education technology market. The Literacy Center, LeapTrack(TM) Assessment & Instruction System, and Leapster(TM) Multimedia Learning System were chosen as the year's best tools for assessment and early literacy.

"Gaining recognition from Technology & Learning is a strong testament to LeapFrog SchoolHouse's leadership in the industry, as well as our tremendous impact on students and educators," said Bob Lally, president of LeapFrog SchoolHouse. "In fact, everyday we receive feedback from the education community about how our personalized, multisensory approach to learning has transformed the educational experience in today's schools by giving teachers a better way to teach and students a better way to learn."

The Technology & Learning Awards of Excellence recognize achievement and innovation in education technology. More than 30 judges, all experts in the education industry, were involved in a rigorous review of over 100 product entries. Selection criteria for the Awards of Excellence focused on quality, effectiveness, ease of use, and creative use of technology in the school environment. With three awards, LeapFrog has the distinction of the being granted the most awards given to a single company this year.

"This is LeapFrog SchoolHouse's third year to win an Award of Excellence, and the fact that the company has won multiple awards this year is evidence that they continue to offer consistently good products for education," said Michelle Thatcher, managing editor of Technology & Learning. "Our educator-judges were impressed with the products' ease of use and fun, educational formats."

The LeapPad(R) and Quantum Pad(R) personal learning tools (PLTs) are integral components of The Literacy Center and the LeapTrack Assessment & Instruction System. A PLT merges research-based curriculum and multisensory technology and costs less than $100, an affordable price for schools. Teachers can use PLTs in conjunction with the LeapTrack system for uploading data to school networks, conducting real-time formative assessment of each student's progress, and prescribing individualized learning paths. Because PLTs are also portable, children can easily transport them home and extend their learning day while still receiving individualized instruction.
